Joy
For the psalmist God’s presence is a place of joy.
How, honestly, do you feel about being in God’s presence?
How might God be inviting you to experience joy in His presence?
Today’s Prayer
Preparation: Begin by stilling; then dedicating the time of prayer to God and asking God that all you think, feel and imagine are for the glory of God.
Gift: Ask for what you desire. Suggestion: To experience God’s joyful presence.
Setting: Again our Scripture today suggests Lectio Divina
Scripture
Psalm 16:8-9 & 11 NRSVACE
I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Conversation: Talk to Jesus in your own words as a friend
Final Prayer: End with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father.
Poem
Dancing Tulips – Jackie Tevlin
Fenland flat with skies unended
Peatish beds with bulbs for tending
Vermillion wings like stars uncurling
Golden hearts with seeds unfurling
Onto peatish beds with bulbs for tending
Tulip’s dance a swift fandango
Effervescently together tango
Today is all of their tomorrow
There is no time for grief or sorrow
As they create the perfect ending
Peatish soil – a bed worth tending
Tulips – perfect in their praise.
