Hope
It is not only we who hope. Creation too, which as we know only too well is groaning in pain, waits in hope for its redemption and freedom. Creation groans particularly when it is abused by human exploitation and lack of care for our Common Home.

Gift: Ask for what you desire. Suggestion: to deepen God’s call to me to be the light to the nations that his salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.
Setting: A Scripture reading to ponder – Lectio Divina.
Scripture
Isaiah 49: 5-6 NRSVACE
For now the LORD has spoken
who formed me as his servant from the womb,
That Jacob may be brought back to him
and Israel gathered to him;
And I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD,
and my God is now my strength!
It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
and restore the survivors of Israel;
I will make you a light to the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.
Conversation: Talk to Jesus in your own words as a friend
Final Prayer: End with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father.
Today’s Music
C.S.Lewis Song – Brooke Fraser
After the Storm – Madeleine Gorham
After the storm, the river
as a gift of flowing light,
whose energy poured within
me, drenching all my thirst.
In joyous song, it bounded
over rocks and roaring
down the falls, lifted me
and made me smile.
The birds were singing too.
Grey January, and
all the world’s sorrow,
forgotten for a moment
in a remembered Spring.
For life comes again.
The Earth speaks of it
and gives me hope.
