Reflection
Again we meet ‘the multitude’. The poor, the sick, the needy. Such people, maybe the majority of people in the world, that brings out compassion in Jesus. People that the Pharisees with their lists of rules and regulations needed to be good Jews seem unable to help.
Jesus needs a new kind of missionary. He forms them of fishermen, tax collectors and assorted sinners. People from within the multitude.
Who evokes your compassion?
Maybe there are people, condemned by the Church and state, who you, like Jesus, feel compassion towards?

Scripture
Matthew 9:35-37 WEB
Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the labourers are few.
Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out labourers into his harvest.”
Conversation: Talk to Jesus in your own words as a friend
Final Prayer: End with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father.
